MADEIRA FLY DRIVE ITINERARY - OPTION 1
Day 1
Fly from the UK to Madeira. At Funchal airport you will be met by
your Atlantic Holidays Representative who will take you to the car hire desk to collect
your car keys, all the necessary maps and any other documents you may need. Drive to the
nearby village of Santo da Serra, where you will spend the first night at Estalagem do Santo
or at Estalagem Serra Golf.
Day 2
Visit the villages of Caniçal, Santo da Serra, Porto da Cruz and
Faial on your way to Sao Jorge where your accommodation has been booked at the Hotel Quinta do Arco.
Day 3
Explore Pico Ruivo, Madeira's highest mountain by driving to Pico das Pedras and then
walk to the summit. Head north and then west to visit small villages such as Boaventura, and Ponta Delgada
before you arrive in Sâo Vicente where you will spend the night at the Estalagem do Mar.
Day 4
From Sâo Vicente drive along the north coast to the village of Seixal and then on to
Porto Moniz for your next stop at the Hotel Euro Moniz. Here you can take advantage of the beautiful walks
available and discover the hidden Madeira.
Day 5
Continue your drive along the north-west coast of the island through the villages of Santa,
Achadas da Cruz, Ponta do Pargo, Calheta and Ponta do Sol, your next ‘Port of Call’, where you will
stay overnight at the Hotel Baía do Sol.
Day 6
Before taking the road to Funchal, we recommend that you drive through the valley of Serra de Agua
up to Encumeada where you will be surrounded by towering mountains. Take a walk and then drive back to Ribeira Brava
on your way to the capital city Funchal where reservations have been made for you to stay at the 4 star Pestana Bay Hotel.
Day 7
At leisure in Funchal.
Day 8
Your return date back to the UK. From your hotel take the route to the airport making sure you have plenty of
time to hand over your car and check in your luggage.
